One of my goals as an actor, is to always have something strong to bring to the table. A lot of people over the years have said this is one of my best assets. Speaking and delivering those ideas to people, with a goal to act in projects, is something that was part of the process of the famous film ‘Good Will Hunting’.

In a burst of creativity, late last year I started right back at the beginning, with a Spider-Man silent short on socials. The lighting exposure was too high and eventually I realised I’d go back and re-make it with better lighting. With it, I attempted to reach out and tag creatives in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a little spark. I had a moment where I thought ‘why am I not doing more of this?’ Then this year, I’ve e-mailed across the board my ambition to work for bigger studios and continued going to filmmaking events.

Back in 2022, The Burnt Chip and Ruby Barker suggested to me to:

A. Build my YouTube channel.

B. Connect with more independent artists and filmmakers.

Since then, Adam Mawson, Thomas Loone, Shantelle Ellyse, Lance Nielsen, Simon Cox, and Dickon Tolson have all been great supporters, who I’ve worked on well known projects with. I had a moment when I even posted on Facebook, basically, “can I do this? Am I reaching people?” Then Kaitlyn Boxall messaged me and really inspired me, and my creativity was thriving again.

It’s a fact that I adore seeing page to screen adaptations and watching how a world translates to the cinema. My take, at this point, is that TV suits novels best and that comic books adaptations are served strongest as a big screen experience, with TV adaptations to flesh out the world. I think the recent TV series Spider-Noir was artistically riveting and was made for the fans.

So let’s take my Ben 10 pitch. Would a Ben 10 cinematic universe work as a TV series alongside multiple movies to assist it? I think so. Comic book writers are working hard behind the scenes to develop Ben Tennyson’s roster of aliens even further.

Maybe some of those people saw my ideas, like that we need more Danny Rand, Nova, White Tiger and Luke Cage on our screens? Who knows. It’s safe to say, I’ve worked with directors in the independent film circuit and studios, who’ve connected with people across the comic book world and have worked in some exceptional places.

The ideas I’ve worked on this year might not have been wholly original, but I know I can help give them some momentum. I’ve done it for the fans of those worlds and for the younger Seb Storey, who keeps looking at me, out of the corner of my eye, saying “what are you doing sat on your ass? Make something”. Even if I don’t get chance to play these characters soon, I’ve voiced them and I’ve given my all to those ideas.

Page dedicated to my Godmothers Linda Enderby and Diane Collins, who when I said to her whilst working on a gardening job for her, “I want to play Harry Osborn”, she said “no… you’re Peter Parker”. I said “I don’t know… Andrew Lee Potts says I should play someone posh!

She said… “no… you’re Peter Parker”.

Then… I thought, what about Peter Parker’s clones?

Over and out… fellow “Web-heads!” :)
